Carr Lane serves the locality as a major through road between Grimsby and Cleethorpes. A highly populated area and school thoroughfare necessitated considered and detailed planning to ensure the minimum disruption to the locality and the overall success of the scheme. The works comprised a full depth reconstruction of 1.8km of single width carriageway and footpaths including drainage diversions, utility diversion and protection. Although Carr Lane was closed to through traffic, pedestrian and resident access was maintained throughout the course of the works.
