In April 2016 the Institute embarked upon the latest development phase in support of our thriving Academy following the appointment of JemBuild as our Main Contractor. This was an extremely challenging project in terms of timescale, scope and complexity which was met by JemBuild with great skill and professionalism marked by a very real willingness to work with all parties to achieve our common goal. The success of the final product owes a great deal to JemBuild’s commitment and demonstrates keen organisation, high quality workmanship and a pleasing attention to detail not always evident in these modern times.

Working in a live school environment can be challenging but JemBuilds first class management, communication, cleanliness and high regard for safety presented throughout the project contributed massively to the overall success of this project.

JemBuild have delivered over and above our expectations. The £3.6m design and build project recently completed by JemBuild has resulted in Healing Academy receiving an outstanding quality build which has become the centre piece of the campus. Having previously worked alongside several contractors at the Academy whilst carrying out significant projects JemBuild have proved themselves to be a stand out contractor in every aspect. A trusted relationship was established from the outset and was maintained throughout the duration of the project with the exceptional and proactive management team. This striking scheme was executed to a high standard and stringently in accordance with the requirements of the approved documents and has been well received by the Academy Staff, Board of Governors and more importantly the pupils. We look forward and hope to work with JemBuild in the future.

Paul and his team at JemBuild were very easy to work with. As an organisation who had no previous experience of the construction industry they took time out to explain each phase of this major refurbishment project and didn’t mind us asking daft questions! They were most proactive throughout the project and provided valuable advice and guidance where things could be improved, altered or carried out more cost effectively, all in our best interests. The end result of their work is a flagship community hub that the Centre4 staff team and trustees are extremely proud of. We would certainly recommend this very professional construction company.

I have worked with JemBuild Ltd since 2011 and they have completed both major and minor contracts for ABP at Hull and Goole. They have demonstrated an excellent approach to Health and Safety and working practices and work very closely with the staff at ABP to achieve the end goal. I am very satisfied with not only the quality of work but also their adaptability and professional manner in implementing changes to the scope of works, and as such I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Having had the opportunity to work with JemBuild on a variety of projects ranging in both complexity and scale, they have consistently delivered excellent work and often exceeded our expectations. The whole management team are especially pro-active, with their meticulous review of drawings and specifications in advance of works allowing the programme to run smoothly and alleviate any potential risks in a timely manner. Careful consideration is given to the programme and its execution throughout the course of the project to ensure a high standard of quality is maintained. These high standards were reflected in their shortlisting for the recent Civic Trust Awards which recognises both building quality and social responsibility to the wider community.

JemBuild have now carried out a number of contracts for Humberston Park School and successfully delivered each contract to the agreed timescale and budget. The service they provide is exceptional and the quality of their work is outstanding. The communication between ourselves and them is timely and professional and the attention to detail is consistent. JemBuild have had to observe our strict time restrictions for deliveries and bespoke needs due to the type of pupils we cater for and they have managed to accommodate this consistently well. JemBuild have also kept our local residents happy with excellent communications. The professional attitude of JemBuild is instilled in all their staff from top to bottom. I have no concern in recommending JemBuild for any project and I hope to work with them again in the future.

Building Control have worked with JemBuild on a variety of developments including domestic works, schools, colleges and assembly buildings. They proactively involve Building Control at an early stage of the design of projects to ensure projects run smoothly for the client from pre application through to completion . The site staff inform Building Control at the various stages of work for regular site inspections and any issues or problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.

Projects carried out by JemBuild have varied both in size and complexity and they have consistently delivered an excellent final product showing full compliance with the Building Regulations at all times.

I have recently had the opportunity to procure JemBuild Ltd to create a memorial area, parking area and pathways within the new “Woodlands Burial” area. They are very professional in their approach from the top to the bottom, they delivered within the timeframe which included restrictions for deliveries given the area in which they were working and funerals taking place. JemBuild constantly communicated with me, my staff and Cofely to ensure that we were fully informed of their programme of works. Their workmanship, duty of care and attention to detail was excellent. I would highly recommend JemBuild for any project and would gladly work with them again.

JemBuild provided quite an astonishing level of work for us thoroughout the project, from all aspects of work including meeting our extremely tight deadline, quality of work and expertise and support. We were happy to see them employing all local sub-contractors and the smooth running of the project overall was beyond any expectation I would put on a contractor. The small number of issues that always come up on projects were dealt with immediately and without further issues. It would be a pleasure to do business with them in the future.

The most recent of JemBuild projects at Franklin College, was that of the Main Entrance Building. To close the main entrance to a live site with almost 2000 people in College was always going to be easier said than done. The understanding and flexibility, shown by JemBuild, working with the College management team during construction meant any tension over access was sensitively and positively managed. The result is a stunning entrance building which has significant Civic presence. This accommodates a wide range of student support functions as well as being a positive visitor experience for reception, the scale of this building and the use of traditional brick means it keys into the existing Estate yet shines as a beacon. The workmanship demonstrated by JemBuild in this very detailed building was excellent. This was a very successful scheme, which was enhanced by JemBuild understanding the Franklin ethos and the need for our learners to have a positive experience during the project.
