Project Description

JemBuild are pleased to have been awarded this interesting restoration project in the Port of Goole on this Grade 2 listed Boat Hoist building. Works comprised of an extensive scaffolding design and erection offering access to the 8.5m high platform level to facilitate the removal of existing rotten timber joists, the installation of new timber joists, walkway and handrails. All works carried out utilising traditional joinery methods, including Mortice and Tusk Tenons to the joists and handrails. Works have been monitored by ABP and English Heritage and we are currently awaiting approval to commence with additional cladding and flooring works, which will replace floor joists and floor boards to the 2nd floor within the hoist, some 15m above ground level and also replacement of timber cladding to the inclined façade, approximately 25m high.

Whilst working on site, we have been awarded significant additional works within the area, including a 70m x 5m heavy duty road to access the boat hoist along with the construction of concrete and block paved access areas.
